DNS step 4 — a low TTL in advance, and what we do not promise yet
- Question
- What happens during a migration, and do I get HTTPS?
- Answer
- During a migration you point your domain to the new address yourself, at your own provider. Set a low TTL in advance, so a change does not stay stuck for days. Two things we do not promise yet: an HTTPS certificate for your site, and a permanent IP. The product has no certificate path yet, and the IP follows from the role of a machine; as soon as that exists, we will tell you in this wizard.
- Applies to
- step 4 of the own-domain wizard, as preparation for a later migration.
